Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
Use these resources from TimelyMD, The Jed Foundation (JED), National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), and Active Minds to help your campus prevent suicide.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death for people aged 15-24 and second leading cause of death for people aged 25-34, according to research by the CDC. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) notes that suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, or background.
A mental health crisis continues to impact college and university campuses across the country, and more stressors are impacting students — from monkeypox and ongoing COVID-19 concerns to school shootings and political unrest. This is why TimelyMD supports NAMI‘s “Together for Mental Health” campaign that encourages everyone to advocate for better mental health care, including an effective crisis response system.
A key aspect of helping students thrive is equipping them with the mental health support and resources to help prevent suicide. And now it’s essential to offer the right resources and support for students. At TimelyMD, we partner with colleges and universities to provide health and well-being services, including emotional and mental support that can help students during a crisis situations.
